Idaho Falls, who had not been competitive in the last few Emotion Bowls, came out of the gate and scored quick in the first quarter. Skyline showed it was not going to be easy, by answering with a touchdown of its own, driving the length of the field in under a minute. The game continued to stay close with Skyline taking a touchdown lead into halftime after scoring a touchdown with less than 10 seconds left in the half. Skyline took a double digit lead for the first time all game, which proved to be insurmountable for the Tigers of Idaho Falls.
