Known as the “Battle of the South End”, this is a huge rivalry game between these two Louisville schools. Both schools have had winning seasons thus far, but this game means the most to the players and the fans. This game is for bragging rights for the year. The atmosphere was loud as both student sections knew about the rivalry game and Chin Up Challenge that really boosted the student body’s enthusiasm.

Butler

James is a two-year starter on the offensive line and made All-District in the 2016 season. He plans to attend college and play football. James plans to major in education and become a teacher.

Pleasure Ridge Park

Trent is a four-year letterman for the varsity football team. He is the starting center for this year’s Panther offense. and has a 4.0 GPA. His dedication to excellence on and off the field serve as a model for his fellow teammates.

Kiante Northington

Butler

Kiante played in the rivalry game the times. He was second team all-state, and first-team all-district at three different positions, and played in the “Best of The Blue Grass” All-Star game. Kiante attended EKU, where he was a four-year defensive starter for the Colonels.
Alex Hibbs

Pleasure Ridge Park

A 2013 graduate of Pleasure Ridge Park, Alex was a leader of the most accomplished PRP football in school history. As a key contributor on offense, defense, and special teams, Alex assisted his team to a 14-1 record his senior year. The 2012 regional championship came down to the final moments, as the Panthers narrowly defeated Butler 28-21.

GAME SUMMARY

After trailing 7-0 early, Pleasure Ridge Park scored 17 unanswered to take a 17-7 lead over Butler. However, Butler responded in the second half and took a 21-17 lead but was short lived. The game’s MVP, PRP’s Shannon Bishop, scampered 87 yard kick off return for the score. Pleasure Ridge Park held on for the 24-21 victory.
