The Napa Grizzlies and Vintage Crushers have engaged in a heated rivalry since 1972 with Napa leading the series 28-17-2. The 2017 season brought an end to a 12 year winning streak for Napa and made way for Vintage to start their own winning streak. This season both teams will need to prove themselves during The Big Game.

Harrison Barrett

Vintage High School

Harrison is ranked 6th academically for this year’s senior class. He is a member of the National Honor Society while taking numerous AP and honors classes and has done excellent in all of them. Harrison also participates in Community Service with local elementary schools by tutoring, helping in fundraisers, and being an inspiration to the students. Harrison will be attending Stanford University.

Travis has played football for 2 years for Napa High School and has been on the golf team for the past 4 years. Travis earned an impressive 4.25 grade point average and has a cumulative GPA of 4.02. Travis hopes to attend Sonoma State and major in business administration. Travis loves to be outdoors. He enjoys fishing and hiking. Being musically inclined has led to another huge passion in his life. Travis has been drumming for the past 10 years

GAME SUMMARY

The Vintage High football team crushed Napa High’s hopes of a miraculous comeback win with a 10-play, 64-yard scoring drive that lasted less than two minutes, as quarterback Jacob Aaron bulled across the goal line from 4 yards out with 23 seconds left to secure a 26-20 victory in Big Game XLVIII at a chock-full Memorial Stadium on Friday night. Napa capped a 12-play, 80-yard drive just before halftime, with Tate Salese nailing the PAT to make it 19-7. In the 3rd quarter, Napa’s recovery of a Vintage fumble, the only turnover of the game, and Erik Vargas threaded his second extra point to make it 19-14. Vintage was forced to punt seven plays into its ensuing possession, and Napa came back with yet another scoring drive to make it 20-20. With 23 seconds left, vintage qb Jacob Aaron scored to make it a 26-20 ball game.
