Known as “The Battle for the Bell,” the rivalry between Spokane’s two high schools has been a yearly gathering place for fans on both sides. The Victory Bell represents the character of the participants, forged in the fires of competition and camaraderie. Mead currently leads the rivalry with a 12-8 record. Thousands of fans will gather to see who takes home a win in the 21st anniversary of this rivalry.

Mead High School

Ben is a senior defensive lineman for the Panthers. He was named 2018 Greater Spokane League Most Valuable Defensive Player of the Year and is an AP High School All-State 1st-team selection.
Kainoa Figueira

Mt. Spokane High School

Kainoa is a 4.0 AP student who is actively involved in ASB and various other school activities. He is as dedicated off the field as he is on it.

GAME SUMMARY

Rowdy fans packed Joe Albi Stadium for the Battle of the Bell., where the Mt. Spokane Wildcats and Mead Panthers put on a show of athleticism unlike any other. Mead got out to an early lead, scoring two touchdowns in the first quarter. However, the Wildcats were able to strike back late in the second quarter with a touchdown of their own. From then on, the game was close, finally ending with Mead just 6 points ahead.
