In 1924,  St. Rita and Mt. Carmel laced up their football cleats for the first time. Almost a century later, the football rivalry continues with no love lost. Mount Carmel garnering 12 Illinois state championships, and St. Rita earning just two state championships, respectfully. But the hardware does not matter when these two meet on the gridiron for another installment of this prolific rivalry.

St. Rita and Mount Carmel will be lining up against each other for the first time since the 2017-18 football season. In that matchup, St. Rita won comfortably 38-21. The Mount Carmel Caravan is looking for revenge on August 27th in Doyle Stadium at St. Rita High School.
