Mona Shores vs. Muskegon is consistently one of the most heated rivalries not only in the state of Michigan but in the nation. The Sailors and the Big Reds are always two of the best teams in the state, and this game near the end of the season usually determines who wins the OK Black Championship and goes onto compete for a state title.

This year, the Big Reds from Muskegon come in with a dominant 7-0 record, having blown out their last five opponents, scoring a total of 303 points combined in those previous five games. Mona Shores come in equally dominant at 7-0, similarly scoring loads of points in that run. This one will determine more than just bragging rights.

GAME SUMMARY

Battling for first place in the OK Black, Muskegon and Mona Shores left everything on the field on Friday night, but it was the Muskegon Big Reds who came out on top with a 55-35 victory over the Sailors from Mona Shores. Muskegon started off the contest strong, jumping out to an early 21-7 lead, but Mona Shores wouldn't go away. The Sailors managed to stay in the contest all evening, but each time their comeback got close, Muskegon shut the door. Muskegon running back Cameron Martinez rushed for six touchdowns, leading the way for the Big Red offense. The win puts Muskegon in command in the OK Black and gives them all the momentum heading into the final stretch of the season.
