Being one of the longest running Rivalry Series games in High School sports (136th Meeting), the atmosphere was electric as the Port Jervis football team arrived after parading around town the entire morning. Port Jervis (who lost last year’s game after giving up 20 points in the final 6 minutes of the “Middletown Miracle”) started the game with a TD in their first drive and led 13-0 at halftime.

GAME SUMMARY

Middletown’s passing offense was stagnant and had trouble moving ball all day, so they decided to put the ball in their best player’s hands. Junior running back Jordan Bryan took direct snaps and put the team on his back to start the 3rd quarter. He led the charge, scoring two touchdowns while literally carrying two Port Jervis defenders to the goal line on his final score. Port Jervis had one last opportunity to tie game but the Middies defense shut them down with two sacks on the final drive to secure the 20-13 win.
