The 28th edition of “The Battle of The Bell” did not disappoint. It was mostly a low scoring, defensive battle with a couple huge offensive plays that turned the tide of the game. On Mead’s opening drive, they took the top off of the Mt. Spokane defense with a huge 60-yard passing touchdown to make the game 6-0. Mead scored again to go into the half up 14-3. Mt. Spokane finally found their rhythm in the second half. They marched down the field twice with two methodical drives, and did not allow Mead to score again. Mt. Spokane’s final drive ended in spectacular fashion, as GARS MVP Cade Strocsher marched his team 85 yards in under two and half minutes. Strocsher threw the game winning touchdown to the corner of the endzone on a 4th and goal to complete their comeback. This win returned “The Bell” back to Mt. Spokane, and added to their series lead which is now at 12-10 in favor of the Panthers.
