With both schools established by 1928, this rivalry game includes the two oldest high schools in Polk County, Florida. After beating Lakeland in 4 of the last 5 meetings before the 2017 matchup, Kathleen went down to the Dreadnaughts 10-3 in a tight defensive matchup. Upon graduation from KHS Javell plans to pursue a degree in business management. Javell is currently holding a 3.96 GPA.

PJ is a four year player on the Lakeland varsity football team. He also been selected for the LOA/FCA honors. PJ is currently holding a 3.87 GPA and plans to attend the University of Florida to major in Business Management.

When you think of Kathleen High School football you have to remember #3 Aubrey bell. In the exciting 1989 KHS vs LHS matchup Aubrey Bell accounted for 26 of Kathleen’s 36 points that night, in a thrilling come from behind KHS victory. After graduating from Kathleen High School Aubrey went on to be a 3 year letterman in football at Ohio University.
James Niblack

James Niblack has been a vital part of the Lakeland football program since his son Johnathan played for the Dreadnaughts back in 2011. Serving as Battalion Chief for the Lakeland Fire Department, James Niblack continues to volunteer his time to the Lakeland football program. He is a true mentor and a inspiration to the young men of the Lakeland team. The Lakeland football program Thanks James for his years of commitment.

GAME SUMMARY

The Lakeland Dreadnaughts defeated Kathleen for the first time in five meetings in 2017 and certainly didn't rest on their laurels or get complacent in 2018. They had the look of a team ready to start their own streak of victories against their bitter rival. The Lakeland offense could not be stopped.
