Long time rivals in East Texas, Longview and John Tyler were ready for a fierce battle. The Lions of John Tyler coming off a big win and ranked 2nd in the state felt pretty good about their chances. Circumstances went against Longview before the game ever started. Star running back Ja’Mycal Hasty had a stress fracture in his back and is out for the season. A huge blow to the Lobos. To top it off, Coach King suspended 10 starters the day before the game which really put a damper on the spirit of the Longview team.
