El Paso vs. Austin is a new game to the Great American Rivalry but has been a Texas tradition since 1930. The Battle of the Claw, as it is known is meeting for the 88th time in history this year. The Austin Panthers currently lead the series at 53-32-2. This season the El Paso Tigers have a chance to redeem themselves from last year and take back the Claw.

David is a two year letterman on the varsity football team, He is also the a returning all-district 2nd team selection. Serving as the team captain, David is very active in the student counsel. David is currently holding a 3.79 GPA.

El Paso High School

Santiago is a three year letterman on the varsity football. He was also selected for the Academic All district for all three years. Santiago is a member of the EPHS National Honor Society. Santiago is currently holding a 4.0 GPA and plans to attend Duke University.

2019 marked the 88th meeting. The game started with the Rivalry record in Austin's favor at 53-32-2. Austin won the last eight games in this rivalry, and also managed to come out on top tonight. Austin led the entire game, with the MVP Isiah Witterstauter scoring three touchdown and totaling 233 combine rushing and passing yards.
