Emotions were running high in Monessen on Friday night. Last year, the Monessen Greyhounds ended the nation’s longest high school football winning streak when they defeated the Clairton Bears on their home field. Clairton began their streak in 2008 at Monessen and went on to win 66 consecutive games until the 2013 loss to the Hounds. Clairton came to Monessen determined to avenge last year’s loss.
