The rivalry between the Alta High School Hawks and the Corner Canyon Chargers is a relatively young one. Going into its fourth year, Corner Canyon hopes to continue to prove that it is more than a split off from Alta High School. After last season’s 38-21 victory over the Hawks, the Chargers look to continue their current undefeated season and maintain their #1 state ranking. While both rosters have depth thanks to future collegiate talent, don’t sleep on the Hawks, who bring in several future DI athletes who have committed to big name schools like Washington and Idaho State.

Despite the age of this rivalry, the communities of Draper and Sandy, UT come out to cheer for their hometown team with the promise of a year of bragging rights to the champions. Look for MJ Tafisi (Alta), Tu’u Afu (Alta), Zach Engstrom (Alta), Zachary Wilson (Corner Canon), Mikey Petty (Corner Canyon), and Easton Peterson (Corner Canyon) to be playmakers throughout the game on Friday night.
