Known and coveted as the “Battle of the Kettle Bell”, this rivalry between cross town schools Allegany and Ft. Hill dates back to the 1920s. The teams share a field but it is located on Ft. Hill’s campus, which leads to a lot of smack talking back and forth between the schools. Allegany is the oldest continuously open school in the state of Pennsylvania and, with that, comes a lot of school pride and spirit. Even though they were entering this game with a record of 6-2 (whereas Ft. Hill was entering the game with an undefeated record of 9-0), the tensions were high as this game kicked off. This was the Homecoming Game as well which made the excitement even greater for both schools.

GAME SUMMARY

The game started off strong for Fort Hill and energy was high as Fort Hill recovered an Allegany fumble early in the first quarter, with the game’s MVP, Alex Barnes, running it in for a touchdown. A score in the second quarter continued their momentum, making it 14-0 going into halftime. An intercepted pass in the 3rd quarter lead to another Fort Hill Sentinel’s TD and it wasn’t until late in the game that Allegany put points on the board. The Ft. Hill Sentinels would win 26-8 over Allegany.
