Coming into this game the two teams have a had a long time rivalry and both teams came hungry for a win. The points flew around early and often. Abilene jumped out to a 7-0 lead that stretched to a 14-0 lead off a muffed Cooper kickoff return. Cooper marched right back down the field and scored. All of this happened in the first 3 minutes of game time.

Daniel is a 2-year letterman on the Varsity football team, he is also a member of the Golden Eagle baseball team. Daniel is on the leadership council in football. Daniel plans to attend Texas A&M University and study Biology and continue his studies and become a sports medicine doctor.
Michael Shubert

Michael has played football at Cooper for 4 years and has been a member of the Cooper track program for past 3 years, advancing to Area in the pole vault the last 2 years. Michael is also on the Cougar power lifting team, is a member of the National Honors Society and a member JR-ROTC program for 3 years now. Michael hopes to continue his education at the US Naval Academy following graduation.

GAME SUMMARY

The hero of the night was Abilene’s Abram Smith. The Tulsa commit scored 5 touchdowns in the first half alone, leading the Eagles to a 42-24 halftime lead. He would end up scoring a ridiculous 7 touchdowns before his night was over. Unfortunately for the Cougars, the second half held more of the same. The Eagles stopped them on fourth down, then proceeded to march all the way down the field and cap off another drive with an Abram Smith touchdown. The Cougars never stopped fighting. They scored early in the 4th quarter to make it 48-31. Abram Smith punched it in for the 7th rushing touchdown of the night making the final Abilene 55, Abilene Cooper 38. This was a true rivalry here in Abilene Texas.
