Bishop Watterson 31, St. Francis de Sales 7 (10/15/10)

October 16, 2010

by Leah Little

Two rival schools from the Central Catholic League in Columbus took the field with high expectations. What is usually a close game turned into a blowout as Watterson crushed DeSales 31-7. The Eagles have been the underdog in this rivalry the last five years and had lost to DeSales since 2005. It was finally their turn.

Sound defense and the spectacular play from MVP quarterback Patrick Rhomberg stunned the Stallions early on. The Stallions were not able to move the ball on the strong defensive play of the Eagles. Watterson forced turnovers and interceptions the entire game while Rhomberg rolled up 336 yards of total offense. Watterson is now looking for a playoff berth after the big win.
