Ursuline 44, Cardinal Mooney 7 (10/22/10)

October 23, 2010

by Leah Little

Ursuline scored first in this Youngstown OH showdown, leading 6-0 with a touchdown but missing the extra point. With only a minute left in the half, Mooney scored and took a 7-6 lead into the locker room.

That would be the Cardinals only time to move ahead in the game; in fact, it would be their only time to score as Ursuline took the lead once again in the third quarter–with a touchdown and two-point conversion to make it 14-7–and never looked back.

The Fighting Irish exploded in the fourth quarter, adding 30 more points to their side of the scoreboard with their defense completely shutting down Cardinal Mooney. Final score: Ursuline 44-Cardinal Mooney 7.
