St. Rita 35, Mount Carmel 21 (9/19/08)

A record crowd of nearly 12,000 showed up on Friday night to watch the St. Rita Mustangs take on cross city rival Mount Carmel in the Great American Rivalry series. St. Rita opened the game with a quick 37 yard run for a touchdown, but Mount Carmel quickly answered with a touchdown of their own. St. Rita went in to the locker room at halftime up 28-7. Mount Carmel came out early in the third quarter and scored to make it a 28-14 game. St. Rita just seemed to be too much for Mount Carmel late in the game and the Mustangs came out with a 35-21 victory.
