KENMORE, WA — Bothell’s Sam McPherson was every way on Friday night.
McPherson did it on both offense and defense, leading the Bothell Cougars to a dominating 47-6 win over the Inglemoor Vikings in the annual “Spaghetti Bowl” at Pop Keeney Stadium. Over 6,000 fans came out for the game that was part of 2013 Great American Rivalry Series presented by the U.S. Marine Corps and Hibbett Sports.
McPherson ran for 198 yards and four TDs and recorded two interceptions to be named the Great American Rivalry Series Most Valuable Player. He had 65- and 55-yard scoring runs.
The Cougars have won 12 straight in the series, which it leads 27-22. The winless Vikings have lost every game this season by at least 17 points.
Both teams finish up their regular seasons next Friday night, as Bothell (6-1) hosts Woodinville and Inglemoor (0-7) is at Arlington.
