Sachem North 21, Sachem East 14 (9/29/12)

After serval days of pouring rain in Long Island NY, the weather was perfect for a Saturday afternoon kick off. Overcast clouds kept the fans and players nice and cool as the wait for the most anticipated match up in the Long Island area, better known as the Noreaster game. Sachem East was ready to revenge it’s 57-6 loss last year to Sachem North.

The start seemed like it was going to be just like last year when #21 Kevin Bragalia (the games MVP)took the opening kickoff for a touchdown. 6-0 North. After the Sachem North starting QB left the game with a Hamstring injury, Back up QB #2 Mike O’Donnell came in and threw a 50-yard touchdown pass to again #21 Kevin Bragalia late in the second Quarter. The score at the half 13-0 Sachem North.

The 3rd Qt was a defensive battle with neither team reaching the end zone. Then Sachem east got on the board with 45-yard touchdown pass from #10 Danny Wolff to #25 Montetro for East to close the lead to 13-7, with 7 minutes left to play. On the next possession North’s Malik Pierre took a hand-off 68-yards for a touchdown. North added a 2-point conversion to stretch the lead to 21-7. Then East came back with a 1-yard Wolff run for a touchdown. The lead was now 21-14 with 3:24 to play, But Sachem North and its strong running game was able to run the clock out for the win.
