Richland 42, Bishop McCort 7 (09/26/2014)

September 27, 2014

Home Team Richland had no problems handling Bishop McCort in this lopsided rivalry game.  Richland took it 42-7.

This match-up between cross town rivals, formerly dominated by Bishop McCort, has become increasingly even over the last few seasons, with Richland winning the last two match-ups. This hard-nosed game is an important league match-up for both teams. Richland fell behind early 7-0, but that was all the defense would allow the remainder of the game. The offense, led by QB Jonny Kutchman, put up 42 unanswered points to capture the victory. Kutchman was named the 2014 Great American Rivalry Series MVP.

What is the Great American Rivalry Series?

Each fall for over a century, high school football has been the centerpiece for families and communities on Friday night. In 2004, iHigh, Inc. created the Great American Rivalry Series to celebrate this uniquely American sport and the cultural phenomenon of “Friday Night in America.” The Series shines the spotlight on top high school football rivalries across the nation, where long-standing traditions are valued, expectations are sky high, and followers are committed.
