Proctor 24, Rome Free Academy 21 (9/14/10)

The night in Utica was crisp with a 20mph wind blowing from the north across the field as Proctor and RFA took the field.

Rome took an early 7-0 lead on the opening drive, but Proctor answered quickly with a touchdown of their own but missed the scores extra point. RFA led 7-6 with 6 minutes gone in first.

Back to back to back turnovers led to Proctor making a long run to the Rome 1-yard-line as the first quarter closed, and the quartered opened with Proctor taking the lead 12-7. The two teams continued to go back and forth on the scoreboard, with Proctor leading 18-14 at the half.

A defensive struggle erupted in the second half, with each team exchanging punts but the score remainig18-14 until Proctor scored on a two-yard run with only 7 minutes left in the game, making it Proctor 24-Rome14.

Rome quickly scored once again to make it 24-21 with 4:30 to go. Rome then attempted and onside kick and recovered, but missed the potential game-tying field goal to end the game.

Final score: Proctor 24-Rome 21.
