PREVIEW: Vacaville vs. Napa (CA)

VACAVILLE, CA – The Vacaville Bulldogs and the Napa Indians will meet on Friday at 10:30 p.m. (EST) at Vacaville High School. More than 6,500 fans are expected for a game that’s part of the 2013 Great American Rivalry Series presented by the U.S. Marine Corps and Hibbett Sports.

Vacaville has won four straight in the series, including 35-14 last season.

The Bulldogs, coached by Mike Papadopoulos, beat Armijo 45-13 to move to 4-3 on the season after going 8-4 in 2012. They are led by junior quarterback Chad Hekking (782 yards and 10 TDs) and senior back David Newborn (709 yards and 10 TDs).

The Troy Mott-coached Indians are 4-3 after a 31-28 loss to Wood snapped their three-game winning streak. They went 7-4 last season and are led by senior quarterback Kyle Beaver, who has over 1,200 total yards and 14 TDs.
