PREVIEW: Cary vs. Apex (NC)

CARY, NC – The Cary Imps and the Apex Cougars are both in need of a much-needed win when the two meet on Friday at 7:30 p.m. (EST) at Cary High School. More than 6,000 fans are expected to witness a game that’s part of the 2013 Great American Rivalry Series presented by the U.S. Army and Hibbett Sports.

Cary and Apex are both 2-5 right now, with Cary having lost five of six and Apex having lost five straight.

The Imps beat the Cougars 45-7 last season, their fourth straight win in the series between schools separated by only six miles and has been going on for nearly a century.

Cary, coached by Kurt Glendenning, went 5-6 last season, while Apex, coached by Joe Kilby, is coming off a rough 2-8 season.
