CHICAGO, IL — Mount Carmel is still undefeated.

In a matchup of unbeaten, the Mount Carmel Caravan beat the St. Rita Mustangs 24-3 on Friday night at St. Rita High School. More than 10,000 fans witnessed the game that was part of the 2013 Great American Rivalry Series presented by the U.S. Marine Corps and Hibbett Sports.

The Caravan have now won two straight in the series, which dates back to 1924. They hold a 58-30-2 all-time advantage.

Illinois-bound Matt Domer ran 14 times for 161 yards and three scores to be named the Great American Rivalry Series Most Valuable Player. He had TD runs of 10, 50 and 59. Marko Boricich and Jimmy Mickens added 108 and 78 yards, respectively, for Mount Carmel, which has won nine straight games.

Behind defensive tackles Enoch Smith (Michigan State bound) and Steve Richardson (Minnesota commit), the Caravan held Iowa State-bound quarterback Tommy Mister to just 9-of-26 passing for 151 yards.

St. Rita (4-1) is at Providence Catholic next Friday night, while Mount Carmel (5-0) is at Loyola Academy next Saturday night.
