Long Beach Poly 39, Lakewood 0 (10/18/13)

LONG BEACH, CA — The annual “Moore League Super Bowl” was a little one-sided on Friday night.

In a matchup of league unbeaten, the Long Beach Poly Jackrabbits shut out the Lakewood Lancers 39-0 at Veterans Stadium. Over 10,000 fans attended a game that was part of the 2013 Great American Rivalry Series presented by the U.S. Marine Corps and Hibbett Sports.

The Jackrabbits have won the last two matchups with the Lancers by a combined score of 81-3.

Tai Tiedemann tossed for 108 yards and three TDs, all to Christian Pabico, who was named the Great American Rivalry Series Most Valuable Player.

Long Beach Poly led 27-0 early in the second quarter, recorded sacks from seven different players and held Lakewood to less than 50 yards of total offense. The defense hasn’t allowed a single point in league play this season.

Lakewood (3-4) is at Cabrillo next Friday night, while Long Beach Poly (7-1) is off until Friday, Nov. 1 when it goes to Millikan.
