ROSWELL, GA — With its star back out, Milton looked elsewhere.
Senior Chad Toliver and junior Micco Brisker each surpassed 100 yards to lead the Milton Eagles to a 33-3 win over the Roswell Hornets on Friday night at The Hornets’ Nest. More than 8,000 fans showed up to watch the game that’s part of the 2013 Great American Rivalry Series presented by the U.S. Marine Corps and Hibbett Sports.
Senior standout Treyvon Paulk, a Tennessee commit, went out on the first offensive series of the game with a knee injury. But Milton didn’t miss a beat as Toliver ran for 101 yards and two scores and Brisker added 118 yards. Toliver was named the Great American Rivalry Series Most Valuable Player.
The Eagles, who ran for a total of 257 yards to the Hornets’ 47, still trails in the series, however, 34-24-1.
Milton (4-0), who hasn’t started a season off this well since 1999, hosts Wheeler next Friday night and Roswell (2-2), which won just three games last season, is at Etowah the same night.
