Longview 56, Marshall 14 – (10/10/2014)

October 11, 2014

The annual Longview vs. Marshall game that has been played for more than 100 years is easily one of the greatest rivalries in East Texas. The entire week fans from both schools were talking about the big game and how much they were going to beat the other team. Close to 10,000 fans packed into Lobo Stadium in Longview to witness the two great schools face off against each other. It only took the Lobos from Longview HS a few minutes to build up a 14-0 lead on the Mavericks from Marshall HS and there was really no looking back from there. Longview’s running game was too strong for Marshall as the two main running backs, Tylan Miller and Marquies Hunter, went for 107 yards and 108 yards respectively. Although Marshall was able to put up 13 points in the second half, it was too little too late, as Longview took the rivalry game with a score of 56-13.
