DEPEW, NY — Lancaster was in cruise control on Friday night.

The Lancaster Redskins shut out the Depew Wildcats 36-0 at Depew High School. Over 6,500 fans attended the game that was a part of 2013 Great American Rivalry Series presented by the U.S. Marine Corps and Hibbett Sports.

Matt Szymanski ran for 100 yards and three scores, including a 75-yard fumble return for a TD that opened the scoring. He was named the Great American Rivalry Series Most Valuable Player.

Mitch Fuller added 116 yards and two TDs for the Redskins, who ended a three-game skid against the Wildcats.

The rivalry is one of the oldest in New York, dating back to 1919. Lancaster leads the series 48-32-6.

The regular season for both Lancaster (4-3) and Depew (5-2) is over.
