It was a classic rivalry in the making in Austin TX as 35,000+ fans witnessed some unbelievable football in Texas Memorial Stadium on the University of Texas-Austin campus.

Westlake dominated the first half, leading 15-10 after Lake Travis finally scored with 17 seconds to go in the second quarter. With 9:24 to go in the third quarter, Westlake scored again on a 60-yard pass play, and suddenly it was 21-10 Westlake.

Lake Travis finally began a comeback, scoring a touchdown and two-point conversion, to make the score Westlake 21-Lake Travis 18. With only 12 seconds to go in the third quarter and a 46-game winning streak on the line, Lake Travis scored up the middle on a quarterback keeper, and for the first time in the game took the lead at 25-21. Scoring once more in the final quarter, Lake Travis chalked up a final tally of 32-21 over its crosstown rival.

It was a game of two halves: all Westlake first half, all Lake Travis second half, with the Cavaliers exiting the field with its 47th consecutive victory.
