John Tyler 41, Longview 25 (9/5/2014)

September 6, 2014

Long time rivals in East Texas, Longview and John Tyler were ready for a fierce battle. The Lions of John Tyler coming off a big win and ranked 2nd in the state felt pretty good about their chances. Circumstances went against Longview before the game ever started. Star running back Ja’Mycal Hasty had a stress fracture in his back and is out for the season. A huge blow to the Lobos. To top it off, Coach King suspended 10 starters the day before the game which really put a damper on the spirit of the Longview team.

John Tyler was primed and ready and took command of the Lobos stadium from the start. But the depleted Lobos still racked up an impressive 375 total yards. But in the end, it was John Tyler who prevailed 41-25 to get the win and a most likely #1 ranking this week.
