The Jesuit Bluejays dominated throughout the game in Louisiana’s oldest rivalry game finishing off Holy Cross 56-14.
This rivalry game featured the 5-1 Jesuit Blue Jays against the 4-1 Holy Cross Tigers. This is the state of Louisiana’s oldest running high school football rivalry game, and Friday, October 10th was the 95th meeting of these two (2) high schools. This is also the 5th longest high school football rivalry in the United States.
It was all Jesuit – all the time – on this 95th meeting of the Blue Jays and Tigers. Jesuit would eventually win the game 56-14 in this District 9-5A showdown. To amplify how Jesuit dominated the game, by halftime the Blue Jays had amassed 376 yards of total offense and 14 first downs. This included 10 of 14 pass completions for 135 yards by Jesuit quarterback, Trey LaForge, who would go on to be named the MVP by the local media.
