September 16, 2012

More than 15,000 fans showed up for the 42nd annual “Holy Bowl” between the Jesuit Marauders and the Christian Brothers Falcons at Huges Stadium Saturday night. Senior quarterback Thomas Sperbeck was the highlight of the game. Sperbeck threw for 68 yards and a touchdown as well as rushed for 95 yards and another touchdown. Sperbeck did the unthinkable and capped his already impressive night with a defensive touchdown off a fumble that he returned 85-yards for a touchdown.

The Marauders held a 28-10 lead going into the fourth quarter. The Falcons did not roll over and quit as Caden Noon rushed for two touchdowns in the 4th to cut the Marauder lead to 5, 28-23. Tyler Marshall recovered the ensuing onside kick to seal the deal for the Marauders who have now won 2 straight in the series. Thomas Sperbeck was awarded the MVP trophy for his performance throughout the game.
