Kendall played quarterback for Brookville High School and was a 4-year varsity starter. He led the Bees to back-to-back state championships in 2011 & 2012 with a 28-0 record. Kendall is said to have had a great attitude, effort, and leadership both on and off the field. Coaches, teachers, and players speak very highly of this young man. This summer he attended Brookville’s kid’s camp and spoke to 60 young players about making good decisions and taking care of grades in the classroom. He received the Titan Award for the stand-out football player in the Lynchburg area his Junior year. He holds numerous on-the-field accolades and he quickly became a household name through his performances. Presenting the award is Marine Sgt Bangert.
Jake played in the Brookville/JF rivalry sophomore, junior and senior years. As a captain of the ‘97’ squad, Jake led his team to two victories over Brookville, once in the regular season and once in the playoffs, on their way to a region runner-up finish. Jake went on to play college football at Virginia Tech, being named the Remington Award(Best Center in College Football) winner and a unanimous All American pick in 2003. Jake was drafted round of the 2004 NFL Draft by the Oakland Raiders. Jake played 7 seasons in the NFL with the Oakland Raiders and the Miami Dolphins his alma mater to coach. Jake is also a 2014 inductee in Virginia Tech Sports Hall of Fame.
