Grosse Pointe South 21, Grosse Pointe North 10 (10/11/13)

GROSSE POINTE WOODS, MI — Grosse Pointe South won again.

The Grosse Pointe South Blue Devils beat the Grosse Pointe North Norsemen 21-10 on Friday night at Grosse Pointe North High School. Over 6,000 fans attended the game, which was part of the 2013 Great American Rivalry Series presented by the U.S. Army and Hibbett Sports.

South won its fourth straight in the series, but North still holds a 28-17 lead all-time.

Sam Hunter was named the Great American Rivalry Series Most Valuable Player.

South won its third straight in the series last season (all decided by eight points or less). North holds a 28-16 lead in the all-time series, which began in 1968.

Grosse Pointe South (4-3) welcomes L’Anse Creuse next Friday night, while Grosse Pointe North (4-3) hosts Port Huron Northern the same night.
