Gar-Field 35, Woodbridge 21 (11/7/14)

November 8, 2014

The Woodbridge vs. Gar-Field game is classic match-up featuring two of the oldest schools in the area. With Woodbridge coming into the game with a record of 4-6 and Gar-Field having a record or 2-7, both teams were striving to end the 2014 season with a big win against their crosstown rivals.

This game was a tale of two halves; Woodbridge came out of the gate and scored a quick touchdown on the first possession of the game and continued to pound the ball the entire first half, leading to a 21-7 lead at halftime for the Vikings. The Gar-Field Indians were not going to give up or quit though and after making some key adjustments at half-time, they came out in the second half like a different team all-together. With a 21-14 deficit going into the fourth quarter, the Gar-Field secondary intercepted the Woodbridge Quarterback on three straight possessions, once they had the ball on offense they followed the lead of Running Back Ibrahim Bundu, who ran for the final three touchdowns for the team on the way to 34-21 victory for the Indians. Bundu also earned the Great American Rivalry Series MVP honors following the game.
