On a picture perfect night for football, the 88th installment of the Mt. Carmel vs. St. Rita high school football rivalry was kicked-off representing the best of the Chicago Catholic League. Over 6,300 passionate fans were on-hand at Pat Cronin Field to witness this classic showdown.

Kevin has played football all four years at Mt. Carmel. He received Proficiency Awards in info technology, physics, and U.S. history, as well as the overall Class Proficiency Award for the junior class. He also participated in baseball, basketball, and track. He is a member of Invisible Children’s Club and National Honor Society. Kevin is pictured with his parents, John and Beth.

Kevin is a two-year letterman on the varsity football team and two-year member of the National Honor Society. He also participates on the swim and rugby teams at St. Rita. Kevin has been a member of the Knights of Augustan service society for four years and is an active member of the Boy Scouts. In college, Kevin plans to major in history. He is pictured with his parents, Joseph and Maureen.

GAME SUMMARY

The scoring was fast and furious with both teams scoring a touchdown on their first possessions, which tied the game at 7-7 with 11:55 left in the first quarter. St. Rita capitalized on a turnover by going 9 yards in three plays, which was capped off by a rushing downdown by Johwon Akui, to pull ahead 14-7. After a scoreless third quarter, St. Rita struck again making the score 35-14 and putting the game out of reach for the Caravan of Mt. Carmel with a final score of 35-14.
