Thursday, September 13th- Longtime rivals the Proctor Raiders and the Rome Free Academy Black Knights will take the field in a classic New York rivalry game tonight. This rivalry dates all the way back to 1891 and is the oldest rivalry in New York. Proctor has won 7 of the last 11 meetings, but lost last year’s battle 24-21 on a last second field goal. This will be the first time since 2006 that the two teams will be playing in the same league, Section III Class AA.

Muris is a member of the National Honor Society, Young Scholars Liberty Partnership Program, as well as varsity lacrosse. Muris is a center for the Thomas Proctor football team and maintains a 96 GPA.

Brett is a two year starter for the Black Knights. He plays both fullback and linebacker. Brett also enjoys being a part of the Ski Club. Brett holds the teams highest GPA with a 86.95

Vincenzo Giruzzi

Proctor

Vincenzo was a captain on the 2002 Proctor High School team that defeated RFA 34-18. As a running back, Vincenzo rushed for 120 yards and recoreded 3 sacks as a defensive end in the game. He went on to receive a full scholarship to Syracuse University and was named team captain his senior year.
Rich Stapleton

Rome Free Academy

Rich played in three consectuive Proctor-RFA games from 2009-2011. Rich had 37 carries for 218 yards, averaging 5.89 yards per carry, contributing to the victory of last year, his senior year. Rich had his career longest run against Proctor of 81 yards.

GAME SUMMARY

It was very clear from the first snap of the ball that Proctor was on a mission to win this game as they jumped to a 36-0 lead over the Black Knights. Proctor increased their lead on RFA and went into halftime up 52-0. It was much of the same in the second half, as Proctor stretched the final score to 65-20.
