Farmingdale 33, Massapequa 8 (10/5/13)

MASSAPEQUA, NY — Farmingdale’s big second half was the difference.

The Farmingdale Dalers scored 27 unanswered points in the second half to beat the Massapequa Chiefs 33-8 in a battle of unbeatens on Saturday at Massapequa High School. Over 3,000 fans were at the game that was part of the 2013 Great American Rivalry Series presented by the U.S. Marine Corps and Hibbett Sports.

The Dalers, who trailed 8-6 at halftime, have won eight of the last nine matchups in the series, which dates back to 1955.

Curtis Jackson ran for 173 yards and two TDs and caught two balls for 45 yards and a score to be named the Great American Rivalry Series Most Valuable Player.

Farmingdale (4-0) is at Baldwin on Saturday night, while Massapequa (3-1) travels to Syosset the same night.
