September 6, 2014

This rivalry game is the “oldest” rivalry in Des Moines, dating back 112 years. The two high schools are both located only a few miles apart and are considered the inner city schools. Competition runs deep as several starting players have transferred into one school from the other. Coach Major Quinlin has also brought a losing program at North, to a team that is getting noticed again. East got the ball first and Josh Davis scored the first touchdown. MVP Jaron Turner had five touchdowns throughout the game and accounted for 377 yards as the East Scarlets pounded the North Polar Bears 51-18.
