Carson 55, Banning 13 (11/1/13)

CARSON, CA — Carson made it look easy on Friday night.

The Carson Colts cruised to a 55-13 win over the Banning Pilots at Carson High School. Over 8,000 fans attended the game that was part of the 2013 Great American Rivalry Series presented by the U.S. Army and Hibbett Sports.

Carson led 28-0 in the first quarter and 34-6 at halftime. Four different players scored in the opening quarter, including a 10-yard fumble return for a TD by Marquel Dismuke. Manoah Pearson, Jabari Minix and DaJuan Lee also scored.

Minix finished with 70 yards and three TDs and was named the Great American Rivalry Series Most Valuable Player. Kiki Flores added 115 yards through the air and a TD for the Colts, who have won 15 straight in the series between schools separated by just three miles.

Both teams are back in action next Friday night, as Carson (5-4) is at Narbonne and Banning (4-5) hosts George Washington Prep.
