Barstow (CA) 39, Victor Valley (CA) 14 – 10/9/15

October 10, 2015

Barstow put on a clinic as their defense was stellar and their offense capitalized often.  Barstow had 284 total yards and took their decisive lead in the 2nd quarter after the Jackrabbits scored first.  The second half saw the Aztec defense become a wall in the win in this game sponsored by the US Marines.  Barstow has taken home the Axe for the second year in a row and also has a Great American Rivalry Championship Trophy to go with it. Photos from the game are below.

What is the Great American Rivalry Series?

Each fall for over a century, high school football has been the centerpiece for families and communities on Friday night. In 2004, iHigh, Inc. created the Great American Rivalry Series to celebrate this uniquely American sport and the cultural phenomenon of “Friday Night in America.” The Series shines the spotlight on top high school football rivalries across the nation, where long-standing traditions are valued, expectations are sky high, and followers are committed.
