2017 Hall of Fame Inductees: R. Lowell Davis & Bob Shaffer

From Verona High School, R. Lowell Davis

Coach Davis has been a fixture at Verona Area High School both as a physical education teacher and as a football and wrestling coach since 1994. Coach Davis retired in 2016, after 23 years of teaching and coaching at Verona Area High School and has left a lasting legacy as a teacher and coach. His work in the weight room as a strength coach and outside the weight room as a running backs coach has been instrumental in helping Verona Wildcats’ football program become a local and state power winning nine conference championships in 17 years. Coach Davis also has coached 12 all-conference running backs in the past 17 years.


From Middleton High School, Bob Shaffer

Bob was a defensive back, safety and half back for Middleton High School from 1954-1958. He played varsity football for three years, varsity baseball for four years and varsity basketball and track for two years. He has made a lasting imprint on Middleton High School sports and is an unforgettable athlete to Middleton.
