2017 Hall of Fame Inductees: Joel Glockler & Chris Whalen

From Cony High School, Joel Glockler

Joel graduated from Cony High School in 1990. After high school he attended West Point, where he graduated in 1994 with a degree in operation research. Following West Point, Joel was commissioned as an armor officer serving at Fort Carson, Colorado. In 1999, Joel was honorably discharged at the rank of Captain and began a career in property and casualty insurance. Joel currently resides in Falmouth, Maine with his wife, Jen, and their three daughters.

 

From Gardiner High School, Chris Whalen

Chris was a member of the 1991 Eastern Maine Class A Championship Team. He was a three-year starter and played in played in the rivalry from 1990-92. During his three years, he was chosen to be on the All State Team as a junior and senior as well as the Pine Tree All Conference Team. He was also a Fitzpatrick Trophy finalist, which is awarded to the best high school player in the state. He comes from one of the all-time great Gardiner football families; his grandfather, father, and brother were outstanding contributors to the history and success of Gardiner High School football.
