2017 Hall of Fame Inductees: Cody Basler & Bryan Bishop

From Bay City Western High School, Cody Basler

During his football career at Western, Cody earned three letters for the Warriors and was the 2002 linebacker for the district championship team. As a senior, Cody had a 10-1 record as linebacker and fullback. After graduating from Western, Cody went on to play at Bowling Green State University from 2005 to 2009. As BGSU, Cody was the co-captain senior year, started in all 13 games and led his team with 85 tackles. In 2009, Cody also earned the Orange Helmet award and the Captain’s Award.

 

From Bay City Central High School, Bryan Bishop

Bryan has been a picture of Bay City Central Athletics for close to five decades. Cheated out of a full Football career at Central by the elimination of sports his senior year, Bryan went on to play football at Albion College. Upon his return as a teacher and a coach, he has devoted his career to making a positive impact on the students and athletes at Central.  He is the winningest wrestling coach in the history of Bay County. He has coached in more than 400 football games, but more importantly impacted thousands of students’ lives at BCC.
