2016 Scholar Athletes: Darrion Carrington & Cooper Guzzi

Darrion Carrington

Darrion Carrington is ranked in the top 6% of his class of over 600 students and has a weighted average of 5.0128. He is currently entertaining scholarship offers from every ivy league school as well as some division I schools.


Cooper Guzzi 

Cooper Guzzi is an outstanding student an athlete who has set meaningful goals in all areas of his life. He is ranked academically number 5 in a class of 347 with a weighted average of 5.19444. In athletics he is the captain of the football team and MVP on the lacrosse team 2015 and was named the All-Conference lacrosse team in his junior year. He is the leader of South Fellowship of Christian Athletes, the Vice President of the Indian Chapter of the National Honor Society, an American Legion of New Jersey Boy’s State Delegate, a junior volunteer firefighter in the Manitou Park Fire Company, and a participants in the United State Naval Academy Summer Seminar. He has earned high honor status during every marking period at Toms River South and earned an academic letter every year that he has attended the “Home of the Indian.” His future plan is to attend the United Statesnaval Academy in Annapolis and pursue a career dedicated to naval excellence.
