2016 Scholar Athletes: Barry Amos & Michael Morton

Barry Amos

Barry is in his 3rd season as a defensive back on the Engineers’ football team. He has also lettered in wrestling and track and field. His service efforts include volunteering at the BEA Gaddy Family Center and serving as a mentor in the school’s Peer Group Connection Program. Barry’s effort on and off the field has earned him opportunities to further his education and football career at Bryant University, Morgan State University or several other NCAA Division 1 schools. He plans to pursue a degree in Business Management or Physical Therapy. Barry is accompanied by his parents Vernita & Barry Amos Sr.

Michael Morton

Michael is a 2-year starter on the varsity Black Knight Football team. Michael is also a shot putter on the indoor and outdoor track & field team. Michael has succeeded in a very difficult curriculum at City holding a 3.25 GPA. He plans to continue his education but is undecided on a school. Alongside Michael is his parents, Chantel & Michael Morton Sr.
