2016 Hall of Fame Inductees: Jacob Bloomhuff & Ben Fry

Jacob Bloomhuff

Jacob played in the North/South Rivalry for 3 years. As Captain of the 2005 squad, Jake led his team to a 26-7 victory over Grosse Pointe South and qualified for the playoffs. In the South game Jake carried the ball 25 times for 162 yards and scored 2 touchdowns. A two way starter on defense he had 7 tackles with 3 quarterback sacks. Jake played 4 years of defensive end at Washington and Jefferson College where they had a 40-7 record over his 4 years. He appeared in 4 straight NCAA playoffs, led all NCAA players in sacks per game as a senior and was an AFCA All-American.


Ben Fry

Ben was a three year starter at Grosse Pointe South as a quarterback and defensive back. In his senior season he led his team to victory over North sparking a comeback with a 66 yard touchdown run at the start f the 2 rd half. He earned the G.A.R.S. player of the game award. That win started the present streak of s out of 6 wins for South. Ben then went on to lead the 2010 team to league, district and regional championships on the way to the state semi-finals for the first time in school history. Ben graduated from t e University of Michigan and is now working for General Motors in Louisville KY.
