2015 Scholar Athletes – Jacob Adames &Braxton Coon

Jacob Adames, Alta High School

Jake has been a starter on the varsity football team for two years. He is a 3 year letterman. He also plays lacrosse for Alta. Jake has maintained a 4.0 grade point average while taking honor classes and AP courses. Jake’s greatest accomplishment has been fighting cancer at the beginning of this year and returning to play football. Jake is also an eagle scout. He plans on serving an LD5 mission for two years and then continuing on to college for his degree in Genetic Engineering. He hopes to pursue his doctorate degree.

Braxton Coon, Corner Canyon High School

Braxton is a starter on the football team and has been a 2 year starter on the basketball team.  Team Captain of both basketball and football teams.  Braxton scored a 32 on the ACT test, he is a committed team member and leads by example.  After high school Braxton plans to serve a mission for his church.   Braxton plans to study dentistry in college.
