2015 Scholar Athlete – Jared Bair & Jack Schmiesing

Jared Bair, Troy High School

Jared will be a 3 year letterman on the varsity football team and is currently a 2 year letterman in baseball. During his sophomore year, Jared was selected Special Mention All-Conference for football. As a junior, Jared was 2nd Team All­Conference for football and Special Mention for baseball. Jared is a recipient of the Troy Scholar Athlete Award and the GWOC Scholar Athlete Award and also a member of the National Honor Society. He is also active with Troy Student Government, a member of Senior Cabinet and participates in the Business Club and the Outdoor Club. Jared plans to attend an undecided college to play football or baseball and pursue a degree in Finance.

Jack Schmiesing, Piqua High School

Jack is a three year letterman for varsity football team and lettered for baseball team. In addition he is a member of the National Honor Society, Piqua Teen Leaders, Link crew, and was crowned this year’s Homecoming King. Jack also is a leader in the community by heading up the River Cleanup for the City of Piqua through “Protect our Waterways” and is a certified basketball official. He plans on attending UD, UC, The Ohio State University or Miami to pursue a degree in sports management.
